The 2001 Census report 'Key Statistics for Local Authorities' in England and Wales is being released on 13 February. This is the first opportunity to see a summary of the complete results of the Census, set out to enable comparison at local, regional and national levels. It follows the release of the first results on population on 30 September 2002. The report will be available on the National Statistics website on 13 February with supporting analyses. A printed version will be laid before Parliament, and will be available from Stationery Office bookshops. There will be a bi-lingual report for Wales.
Table layouts showing the content of the Key Statistics are available here, and figures are included for: UK as a whole; England and Wales; Government Office Regions; Counties; Unitary Authorities; Districts; Greater London and the Metropolitan areas; former Counties, and National Parks.

Obtaining the Key Statistics
The Key Statistics can be obtained in the following ways:
A printed report for England and Wales, and a corresponding bilingual report for Wales only, are available from Stationery Office bookshops.
The full results will be available on the National Statistics website through the Neighbourhood Statistics Service as a pdf of the printed report
CDs containing the results in Supertable, CSV or Excel formats will be available from Census Customer Services (a charge to recover material costs may be made for larger orders).
Summary information for each Local Authority will be provided in Profiles available on the National Statistics website.
The set of results for a single Local Authority will be available from Census Customer Services as an Excel format email attachment.
Information on migration, which is not included in the printed report, will also be available from the National Statistics website.
You can request the results from Census Customer Services by emailing censuscustomerservices@ons.gov.uk, and stating which of the formats below you require:
Format 1: CD ROM: Supertable format
Format 2: CD ROM: CSV format. This CD contains the Key Statistics as percentages and counts for all areas in England and Wales
Format 3: CD ROM: Excel format. This CD contains the Key Statistics as percentages and counts for all areas in England and Wales
Format 4: The Key Statistics as percentages and counts for any single area as an Excel extract sent as an e-mail (please specify the area required)
