The New Deal for Communities (NDC)Programme is one of the most important area based initiatives (ABIs) ever launched in England. It is designed to `reduce the gaps between some of the poorest neighbourhoods and the rest of the country`. This report presents the findings from the first year of a national evaluation of NDC.
