Additional Information:

All data represent a snapshot in time of claimants (partners and dependants) on the Family Credit Computer System (FCCS), and will therefore exclude a number of cases that are held clerically. Family Credit is a weekly tax-free Social Security benefit for families of working people who are responsible for bringing up at least one child under the age of 16 (or under 19 in full-time education up to A-level or equivalent standard). Both two-parent and one-parent families can get Family Credit.
