Abstract
STEAM (Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor) is an economic model owned and operated by Global Tourism Solutions. The model provides estimates of tourist numbers, tourist days and total revenue generated for:
- tourists staying in serviced accommodation;
- tourists staying in non-serviced accommodation;
- tourists staying with friends/relatives; and
- day visitors
In addition, STEAM provides estimates of employment supported by tourism expenditure, broken down by sector (accommodation; food & drink; recreation; shopping and transport).
