To provide access to a uniform readily accessible source of regional, sub regional and local data on crime, and to explore the kind of crime information that can be held on a regional database.
Latest Progress March 2007: Service Withdrawn
Following a recent review, GONW have decided that the Regional Crime Mapping System (RCMS) does not best meet the needs of the Government Office and our partners in police forces and crime and disorder reduction partnerships.
As a result the service was withdrawn on March 23rd 2007.
GONW are currently considering our future commitment to a region-wide GIS system and will be talking to relevant stakeholders at the appropriate time.
